Starrett 1025-6 Slide Caliper, Stainless Steel, Nib Style Jaw, 0-6" Range, +/-0.003" Accuracy, 0.015625" Resolution

Starrett 1025-6 Slide Caliper, Stainless Steel, Nib Style Jaw, 0-6" Range, +/-0.003" Accuracy, 0.015625" Resolution

The Starrett 1025-6 stainless steel pocket slide caliper fits easily in a shop coat pocket and is precise to 1/64” for quick yet precise measurements. Readings are made directly from two lines marked “in” and “out” on one side of the caliper stock. The outside range is 0 to 4-3/4” while the inside range is 1/4 to 5”. The back of the caliper stock has an inch scale to allow the caliper to be used as a steel rule as well, for easy and fast estimation of rough measurements. The knurled thumb piece activates the slide, while the slide stop prevents the tool from being disassembled. The clamp screw has a left-hand thread for easy one-hand operation. The jaws have a straight measuring surface for outside measurements and rounded nibs for inside and hole measurements. The jaws are 1-3/8” deep, while the closed nibs are 1/4” wide. The graduations on the stock are in 1/32” increments, while the graduations on the slide are in 1/32” and 1/64” increments. Calipers measure the distance between two opposing sides of an object. They make inside, outside, depth, or step measurements, according to their type. Calipers are commonly used in architecture, metalworking, mechanical engineering, machining, manufacturing, carpentry, and medicine. The simplest calipers have two legs to mark the two points and require a ruler to take the measurement. More complex calipers use two sets of jaws instead of legs and have up to two graduated scales. Vernier, dial, and digital calipers give direct and accurate readings and are functionally identical, having a calibrated scale with a fixed jaw, and another jaw with a movable pointer that slides along the scale. The vernier caliper has a scale sliding parallel to the main scale for an additional, fractional reading to improve measurement precision. The dial caliper has a circular dial with a pointer on a toothed gear rack replacing the second vernier scale. As with the vernier, this second measurement is added to the readi... [Read More]

Starrett 799AZ-40/1000 Digital Caliper, Stainless Steel, Battery Powered, Inch/Metric, Nib Style Jaw, 0-40" Range, +/-0.003" Accuracy, 0.0005" Resolution, Meets DIN 862 Specifications

Starrett 799AZ-40/1000 Digital Caliper, Stainless Steel, Battery Powered, Inch/Metric, Nib Style Jaw, 0-40" Range, +/-0.003" Accuracy, 0.0005" Resolution, Meets DIN 862 Specifications

The Starrett 799A-40/1000 digital caliper measures 0 to 40 inches and 0 to 1000 mm with 0.0005” or 0.01 mm accuracy, and comes in a protective plastic case. This light, comfortable, and easy-to use measuring tool allows for reliable and accurate readings with the slim, streamlined design and large, easy-to-read LCD. Lightweight, ergonomic design makes this caliper easy to use, even with one hand. The caliper can be used with one hand through operating the fine adjustment roll with the thumb. A lock screw can hold the slide in position. Depth rod is integrated into the rack of the caliper, unlike many calipers which offer a detachable depth rod, or none at all. The hardened stainless steel body offers corrosion resistance and long life. Single battery is easy to access, on the front of the plastic casing, next to the LCD. The last measurement position is retained when the caliper is shut off, and it is simple to zero the caliper at any position with the clearly marked zero button. Easy-to-read LCD is large, with 0.32” tall characters. The caliper shuts off automatically after five minutes of nonuse. Linear accuracy meets the internationally used Deutsches Institut fur Normung 862: Vernier Calipers Requirements and Testing (DIN 862) standards. Calipers measure the distance between two opposing sides of an object. They make inside, outside, depth, or step measurements, according to their type. The Mitutoyo 552 series Digimatic carbon fiber calipers are digital calipers made of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRPs), and use Mitutoyo’s ABSOLUTE linear encoder technology. Centerline, pointed inside diameter (ID) measuring, and attachment clamp accessories are available for expanded range of use. These calipers have accessible function control buttons, such as Origin-set, Zero-setting, Presetting, Offsetting, Data Hold, Inch/Metric, and Data Output, and uses both inch and metric measuring systems. Although identical to dial and vernier calipers in its ability to make precise measurements, the digital caliper’s LCD increases reading reliability. The Mitutoyo 552 series caliper has the ABSOLUTE electrostatic capacitance type linear encoder to help reduce overspeed errors. The caliper employs Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRPs) in its beam and jaws. LCD resolution is 0.0005” (0.01mm). An alarm alerts the user to low voltage and counting value composition errors. An adjustable thumbscrew locks the scale’s position. Maximum response speed is 1,600 mm/s. The caliper has Statistical Process Control (SPC) data output capability; it outputs data using a serial data interface to a computer or other dedicated recording device using an SPC cable. The caliper includes, and is powered by, a single SR44 silver oxide cell battery that lasts approximately 3,000 hrs. with normal use. Optional caliper attachments include millimeter and inch centerline attachments, millimeter and inch pointed ID measuring attachments, and attachment clamps (sold separately).
