Multizone: Protect from Interference Most IR extenders are programmed to pass any signal that is sent through the receiver. Sometimes this may disrupt your setup as a few devices in your closet run on a similar IR frequency and cause interference with one another. The Multizone feature protects your devices from interference from other devices. This gives you the ability to have certain devices controlled only from specific areas in your setup. This has been a requested feature from many of our customers as they have extended IR signals but unintentionally were controlling two devices located in the same space. Cable boxes have especially been a pain since multiple cable boxes are easier to have based in the same area. Now with the BlastIR Wireless Multizone you are able to ensure you will only control the box that is attached to one of your TVs and not the other. The Channel IR System The Multizone feature works on a 10-channel system, this system gives you the ability to interact with your devices without needing to worry about your Wireless Extenders interfereing with one another. The system also gives you the option of using any number of transmitters or receivers on any given channel. This gives you complete freedom of choice for where your displays and devices can be placed without having to complicate your setup. The BlastIR Wireless Multizone Receivers will only communicate with the BlastIR Wireless Multizone Emitters that are set to the same channel. If you happen to own the classic BlastIR Wireless, this product will also work with it. Channel 0 on this product will allow IR signals to be sent between the two diffferent versions.

Obstacles such as thick barriers, metal studs and steel mesh in walls do reduce the signals effectiveness but distances of more than one hundred feet are not uncommon. Compact at less than 2 inches in diameter. You place the IR Receiver Unit near your TV or attach the IR Receiver cable to your TV if you want to hide the IR Unit. Your remote's signal will then be received and transmitted via Radio Frequency (RF) to the Emitter Unit near the device(s) you want to control. Then you plug the IR Emitter Cable into the Emitter Unit, attach the emitter bud(s) onto the IR Receiver(s) of your equipment and the system is read. If you use the emitter buds be sure to cover the IR receiver on the device you want to control precisely.The emitter bud must be right on top of the IR receiver of the device. Installation Instructions: Step 1- Place the IR Receiver unit and IR Receiver cable in your desired location (ex: TV, Display). Step 2- Place the IR emitter unit and IR emitter cable on the device(s) you want to control. (ex: STB, DVD player, Receiver). Your remote's signal will then be received and transmitted via Radio Frequency (RF) from the TX unit to the RX unit near the device you want to control. Installation Instructions: Step 1- Place the IR Sender (TX) unit and Sender cable in your desired location (ex: TV, Display). Step 2- Place the IR Receiver (RX) unit and IR emitter/receiver cable on the device you want to control. (ie: Cable/Sat Box, DVD player, A/V Receiver). So you've got your stereo system speakers installed on your back porch and you can enjoy your music, but you can't change the volume without running back into the house and physically adjusting the volume control on your receiver, and you don't want to install a wall-plate volume control. What can you do? Why get this IR Remote Control Extender from Monoprice, of course! This wireless IR extender converts the IR signal into an RF signal at 433.92 MHz, for transmission to the receiver unit, up to 100 meters away, through walls, doors, ceilings, and floors, or whatever. At the receiving end, an IR cable with three bulbs repeats the IR signal from your remote to up to three individual components, so you can use it up for your receiver, DVD player, and satellite receiver, for example. The extender operates in the IR range from 30 60 KHz, allowing it to process the newer Dual Band IR signals. Note that the IR transmitter bulb cord connects to the receiver with a 2.5mm "mono" plug and has cord lengths of 39", 58", and 78". If you wish to extend this to a longer distance, you can use our 3 ft 2.5mm audio extension cable. However, if you need to extend it further, you can use a 3.5mm stereo audio extension cable.
