The woods vary slightly, so your pen will look very similar to the one pictured but may not look exactly the same. The wood for each pen is first cut to size, then drilled, glued, and turned on a wood lathe, one at a time. If the wood is a burl, it is stabilized with resin in a vacuum, to make it more durable. If the wood is Maple or Birch, the layers are dyed individually, then glued up the same as a sheet of plywood. Every pen is handmade by A. B. Petrow. He has been making wood pens for over 25 years.
