This is the new US Flag 2018 For more than half a century, U.S. stamps have depicted the American flag in vivid red, white, and blue. This eye-catching new issuance continues that tradition with a striking graphic design of a flag. Although the American flag had appeared on U.S. stamps as far back as 1869, usually as a small element in a larger vignette, it was only in 1957 that the U.S. Post Office Department developed a quick and economical way to produce bicolor or multicolor stamps that could depict the flag in its true red, white, and blue, thanks to a special press acquired from Switzerland by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Ethel Kessler served as art director for this stamp, which will be issued as a Forever stamp. This Forever stamp will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail one-ounce price.

Roll of 100 brand new forever stamps made by USPS. Stamp design will be one of two US Flag versions on white background issued in 2016 or 2017 (see images). Always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1 ounce rate. Self-adhesive for convenient use. Made in the USA. If the rolls were not shrinkwrapped, then make sure you have received genuine stamps, rather than counterfeits. Mail sent with counterfeit stamps can be confiscated. Genuine stamps will have microprinted letters USPS on every stamp. On the 2017 variety these letters are typically found on the right edge of the flag, visible with a magnifying glass (such as one of the images above). On the 2016 the "USPS" is found on the flag pole. Also genuine stamps have plate numbers such as "P1111" that appear 3 or 4 times along the bottom roll (usually every 25 stamps or so) on genuine stamps, as in the first product image. With a shortwave UV light, genuine stamps will shine with a green phosphorescent glow, while counterfeit stamps just shine bright white. Under a magnifying glass the counterfeit stamps will exhibit lower print quality, with noticeable dots and lines, while the genuine stamps appear smooth. If you receive a 2014 Star Spangled Banner stamp instead, that might be counterfeit and should not be sent with this listing.

It is also perfect for party invitations, thank-you notes, announcements, or any other correspondence. For centuries, boutonnieres-or buttonhole flowers, as they were called in Britain-were a staple of a well-dressed man's outfit. For most of the 20th century, a single flower pinned to a lapel or inserted into a jacket buttonhole was part of a sophisticated, debonair man's wardrobe. Today, boutonnieres, still very fashionable, are worn at weddings by the groom, groomsmen, father of the groom, and best man, and at other special occasions, including proms, anniversaries, retirement parties, or military memorial services. Art director Ethel Kessler designed the stamp. The boutonniere was arranged by floral designer carol caggiano and photographed by Renée comet.
