The treble and bass response is extended beyond the range of traditional active pickups, and has been carefully balanced with a slightly scooped midrange for the perfect crunch. This pickup excels at screaming pinched harmonics and hyper-speed riffage with responsive dynamics across the entire fretboard. With its hot coils, and alnico 5 bar magnet, this pickup delivers an unmistakable upper midrange attack, a tight, articulate low end, and harmonically rich highs that can really sing. The JB is the perfect bridge pickup for anything from blues & country to the meanest hard rock & metal. The Jazz Model neck humbucker uses an alnico 5 bar magnet and a special coil wind for an articulate, glassy treble response that balances very well with its full, but tight low end. The scooped midrange gives this pickup a smooth tonal character all its own. Originally designed as the matching neck pickup for the JB Model bridge pickup, the Jazz is an incredibly versatile humbucker that will work for almost any style of music. The Jazz Model is an excellent neck position counterpart for almost any of our moderate to high-output bridge humbuckers. Mick Thomson of Slipknot came to us wanting a set of Blackouts that had increased high-end and a tighter low-end to compliment the complex, crushing riffs he plays in severely dropped tunings. The resulting EMTY neck model has a special custom-voicing for crystal clear clean tones with a distinct edginess to them. With the gain cranked up, the top and bottom stay tight and focused, while the midrange pushes more aggressively through the mix for smooth sustain and crisp individual note definition. The EMTY bridge model has the energy and output of the original Blackouts, but you'll immediately notice that the custom tuned preamp yields a tighter low-end that gives your sound an edgier, more percussive feel whether your in standard tuning or beneath the earths crust. This is especially true for palm muted, heavy chugging riffs. The midst provide just enough detail, and the augmented treble response really gives solos a solid attack.
