The blade assembly, consisting of a steel hub and spider, holds the fan head's three aluminum paddles, which are enclosed by front and rear powder-coated steel wire guards for strength and resistance to corrosion. The permanent split capacitor (PSC) motor provides both starting torque and the ability to run at variable speeds.
